The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has announced the successful return of 78 Nigerians trafficked to Côte d’Ivoire.
The victims, comprising 75 adult females, three babies, and two adult males, arrived in Lagos via an Air Peace flight.
This was confirmed by NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Adamu-Bello, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to prosecuting the traffickers and providing support to the victims.
The NAPTIP boss further said that the agency will offer medical checks, counseling, and skills training to help them rebuild their lives.
Also speaking, Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyema, noted visible signs of exploitation on the victims and provided the evacuation free of charge, also sponsoring their medical intervention. The victims expressed gratitude for the support, describing their harrowing experiences and hope for healing and recovery.
