Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening child protection laws, improving access to basic education, and expanding healthcare services across the state's 44 local government areas.
The governor stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Kano by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature, to commemorate the 2025 International Children’s Day.
He emphasized the importance of protecting children's rights and prioritizing their needs, ensuring they grow in a secure environment, adding that his administration has also increased budgetary allocations to sectors affecting children.
Governor Yusuf further announced plans to launch a state-wide campaign against child abuse, street begging, and child labor, in collaboration with local and international development partners.
He also highlighted the recent signing into law of the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA) to promote social safety for vulnerable groups.
