
JAMB WITHHOLDS 96 UTME RESULTS OVER INFRACTIONS.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withheld 96 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results for exam infractions.
JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede announced this at a press briefing on Friday, restating the board's commitment to eliminating exam malpractice.
Oloyede revealed that this year, over 2 million candidates registered for the exam, with 1.9 million verified participants, noting that results for nearly 1.9 million have been released, while about 40,000 are pending, with 1,426 being scrutinized for infractions, including 244 candidates caught attempting to cheat online.
Speaking on issues like identity fraud and collusion with some CBT centers, the Registrar disclosed that about 80 suspects are currently under police investigation, after which they will be prosecuted as the board works to maintain academic integrity.
