GOV MBAH REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO WELFARE, EDUCATION OF CHILDREN IN ENUGU STATE.
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has highlighted his administration's commitment to the welfare and education of children.
The governor stated this during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Tuesday where he was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia.
He stated that the Smart Green Schools were not just school blocks, but a factory for the future workforce, innovators and leaders, emphasizing that children are at the heart of his administration's agenda.
Governor Mbah showcased the 260 Smart Green Schools being constructed across the state, equipped with modern facilities like solar energy, digital smart boards, and robotics labs, assuring that these schools will provide experiential learning opportunities, enabling children to learn by doing and solving real-world problems.
The governor also highlighted the state's 33% budgetary allocation to education, the highest in Nigeria, and promised additional support, including free uniforms, books, nutritious meals, clean water, healthcare, and tablets to enhance learning.
He encouraged children to be bold, curious, kind, and excellent, assuring them of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
