Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed frustration over the state's worsening insecurity, despite his efforts to address the issue.
Governor Alia, in a statement by his media aide, Kula Tersoo, lamented that though additional security personnel have been deployed and security chiefs have visited the state, no terrorists have been arrested.
This followed criticism from a faction of the state APC, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who accused the governor of lacking capacity to handle insecurity, and calling on President Bola Tinubu to intervene, citing herdsmen attacks that claimed 42 lives, calling on President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
He argued that he has worked tirelessly to address the security crisis, providing 300 motorcycles to aid security forces' mobility.
Tersoo also reminded the APC faction of the security challenges during previous administrations, particularly under Akume and Samuel Ortom.
